Finca La Aurum - Sidra
Aurum - 6591
35
At Aurum in Masanamaca, Loja, Luis Carpio Iniguez continues to
develop a farm built on former livestock land at 1,660 masl —
a long-term project that required rebuilding soil condition from
the ground up before meaningful coffee production was possible.
Heavy seasonal rainfall in the region has shaped both the farm's
layout and the management of its trees.
This Sidra Bourbon lot was processed as a Natural, with
selectively picked cherries dried under monitored conditions. Two
lots from Aurum appear in this competition: a Natural Geisha (rank
18) and this Natural Sidra Bourbon. Where the Geisha showed
jasmine, mandarin, and nectarine, the Sidra Bourbon moves toward
lavender, guava, and honey — a fruitier, warmer expression of
the same farm and the same careful drying approach.
