Traditional coffee supply chains often fail to reward hyper-premium quality because exceptional lots are frequently produced in tiny volumes and get blended away. At Qima Coffee, we choose the open auction format because it turns the traditional model on its head.
In partnership with the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE), our auctions serve as a digital bridge. They provide a merit-based, completely transparent global stage where quality—not middlemen—determines the true price of a crop. By inviting international roasters to openly compete, we unlock life-altering marketplace access for families doing meticulous work on a micro-scale.
Founded in 2016 by Faris Sheibani, Qima's core purpose began as a quest to rebuild Yemen’s specialty coffee industry, introducing groundbreaking post-harvest innovation, and unveiling entirely new genetic strains to the world (like the discovery of Yemenia).
Whilst Yemeni coffee has a rich history, we believe its future holds more fortune than its past.
Active since 2021, we focused our post-harvest development across the unique microclimates of Loja and Pichincha. By bridging the gap for isolated family farms, we protect and promote rare, low-volume varieties like Sidra and Typica Mejorado.
Built to give visibility and international buyers access to Ecuador's highly complex micro-lots.
Expanding into Colombia, we partnered with exceptional high-altitude producers to challenge conventional flavor boundaries. By introducing our strict sensory panels and science-backed fermentation techniques, we elevate classic profiles into highly sought-after competitive lots.

We don't buy coffee based on standard commodity market baselines. We map our purchases around a strict three-tiered model: covering farm production costs, ensuring a baseline living wage for households, and layering high-value quality premiums generated via the auction.
Our auctions are focused on research and development. In origins like Yemen, 10% of all auction proceeds are directly funneled back through the Qima Foundation. This directly funds local agricultural programs, processing centers, standardizing education, and vulnerable rural community resources.
Our private collection format is radically inclusive. It is built so that any smallholder farmer—regardless of how remote or previously untouched their region is—can submit their crop. Every submission receives equal tracking and an identical opportunity to achieve life-changing, record-breaking prices.
